The Queen’s death certificate has revealed her cause of death was old age.
National Records of Scotland published on Thursday an extract from her entry in the Register of Deaths.
The Registrar General for Scotland, Paul Lowe, confirmed that her death was registered in Aberdeenshire on September 16.
The Queen’s death at the age of 96 was recorded as occurring at 3.10pm on September 8 at Balmoral Castle in Aberdeenshire.
The monarch’s passing was announced at 6.30pm that day via a Buckingham Palace statement.
The document lists her full name, Elizabeth Alexandra Mary Windsor, with her occupation as “Her Majesty The Queen”.
Douglas James Allan Glass is noted as the certifying registered medical practitioner.
The document was also signed by the Queen’s daughter, Princess Anne.
Old age was the only cause of death listed, with no other contributing factors.
Prince Philip’s cause of death was also recorded as old age by the head of the royal medical household, Sir Huw Thomas when he died aged 99 in April 2021.
