I’VE just about come down from last week’s party.
What a couple of weeks it’s been back in the UK – and I’m now off back home to Los Angeles clutching an MBE.
A big thanks to Jason Donovan once more for turning up and doing a few songs at the bash for my wee bauble, and my sister Elaine’s birthday.
Jason’s going off to do Priscilla Queen Of The Desert on stage again – go and check him out when it goes on tour, if you can.
One wee Glasgow woman saw Jason come on and threw her drink over her partner – I’ll hazard a guess and say she’ll be buying tickets!
Elaine was delighted with her surprise at our joint party last week.
Jason sang solo but he tried to get me on stage to duet with him on Especially For You.
I decided to spare my guests that agony, though – although it might have helped clear the venue at the end of the night.
I’m just glad Elaine, her husband Jim and my niece Hollie and nephew Euan were there – they really are a model family.
Speaking of which, did you see the pictures of Kim Kardashian last week?
She’s doing a modelling campaign for luxury Italian brand Fendi, with North West.
Of course it’s not a compass direction — that’s the name of her and husband Kanye’s five-year-old daughter.
Nothing like getting the weans to work at a young age, although an Italian modelling campaign fairly puts my paper round in the shade.
Janet Jackson was also in the news last week. She was on tour last week when she heard about the passing of her father.
Joe Jackson was a massive character, and a lot has been written about his treatment of his children, so I wondered what Janet would do.
Well, she took to the stage and said: “Without his drive, his strength, we wouldn’t have this success.
“We’re a black family that came from Gary, Indiana, and we broke all kinds of records around the globe. That’s truth.”
With the Jacksons there are always going to be more stories – and I certainly expect more stories about Joe will come out over the coming months.
Also, expect more news from Hollywood from me over the next few months – although I promise I’ll stop going on about my MBE.
Just wait until I get a knighthood…
