A ticket website is already charging fans £2,000 to see Scotland play England at Wembley.

The sky-high prices were listed yesterday on the website Live Football Tickets.

It is not clear how many tickets the Tartan Army will receive for the three matches Scotland are guaranteed to play – Croatia and Czech Republic at Hampden Park and England at Wembley on June 18.

As many as 14,400 briefs have been held back by Euro 2020 organisers UEFA for visiting fans at Wembley.

The tickets currently on sale were originally sold last summer, when buyers would have had no idea who would be playing at the match they had chosen to watch. Then, the cheapest tickets for Wembley and Hampden were around £45.

The website was yesterday advertising the most expensive VIP tickets at £1,500.

A £20 delivery fee was then added plus a £450 service fee, taking the total to £1,970.

And if the match proceeds behind closed doors, a refund won’t be forthcoming, with the website saying: “No cancellations”.

Tam Ferrie, honorary chairman of the East of Scotland Tartan Army, said: “Firms like this are simply trying to cash in.”

The SFA said: “We advise all supporters to purchase tickets from official sources”.

Previously UEFA has said it might hold all matches in Russia, if Covid prompts concerns over fans visiting several different countries.
