SCOTTISH B&Bs have scooped top awards at an independent hospitality industry event.
Family-run Portnellan, in Crianlarich, came out on top in the Sweetest Homestay category at the eviivo awards, while Aberdeenshire luxury B&B Lys-Na-Greyne was crowned Scotland’s top Hidden Gem.
Six other B&B properties shortlisted from Scotland also competed across a variety of categories.
The eviivo Awards, hosted in London, seek to recognise the best of the UK’s world-class B&Bs, guesthouses, inns, serviced apartments, self-catering units and small independent hotels.
David Weston, awards judge and Chairman of the Bed & Breakfast Association, said: “With over 1,000 new B&Bs opening since 2015, it is great to see that the sector is enjoying a revival.
“These brilliant B&Bs are diverse in what they offer and this can be seen in the variety of nominations across Scotland.”
Paul Saxby, Events Director at eviivo, said: “With thousands of new independent, authentic and exciting places to stay opening every year it’s great to see our industry thriving and evolving.”
“All the properties shortlisted are a true credit to their owners, managers, and the staff that run them, and we are privileged to be able to recognise them.”
