PASSENGERS had to be evacuated from a train near Cupar station in Fife after a fire started underneath one of the carriages.
ScotRail say services between Aberdeen, Dundee and Edinburgh will be disrupted until at least 5pm.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson told our sister title The Courier that all passengers were safely off the train and accounted for.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said: “Officers are at Cupar station along with Scottish Fire and Rescue after a small fire was reported under a train. There are no reported injuries.”
One passenger posted on Twitter: “Just been evacuated off the @ScotRail to Edinburgh at Cupar. Hat off to the conductor who has been absolutely super in her quick yet relaxed approach to keeping everyone safe!”

Staff are expected onsite within the next hour, with valid tickets being accepted on Stagecoach services between Kirkcaldy and Dundee.
Coaches have also been requested for passengers at Kirkcadly and Dundee.
Disruption is also expected until 5:30pm on Fife Circle services due to a passenger taking ill at Dalmeny.
