His remains were cremated with no ceremony or music at Falkirk Crematorium last week, before the facility opened to the public for the day. With no relatives claiming them, the ashes were returned to Clackmannanshire Council, which said they were “disposed of at sea”. Council documents revealed the cost of Sinclair’s funeral was £1150. Sinclair was found guilty in November 2014 of the notorious World’s End murders. He was jailed for 37 years, the longest sentence in Scottish legal history, for killing teenagers Christine Eadie and Helen Scott. He has been linked to several unsolved cases from the 1970s including the murders of Helen Kane, Anna Kenny, Hilda McAulay and Agnes Cooney. He was already behind bars for a series of rapes and attacks on children.
