THE US Secret Service has said it is responding to reports that someone may have shot themselves near the White House.
A tweet from their official communications account said :”Secret Service personnel are responding to reports of a person who allegedly suffered a self-inflicted gun shot wound along the north fence line of @WhiteHouse.”
Medical personnel are attending to the victim, with no other injuries reported.
Secret Service officers said pedestrian and vehicular traffic has been impacted by the incident.
President Donald Trump is not currently in the building, as he is in Mar-a-Lago, Florida.
