GREG HEMPHILL, who stars as Jack’s cantankerous chum Victor McDade, has revealed Craiglang’s newest resident – his missus.

The comedy duo have signed up former Balamory star Julie Wilson Nimmo for the new series.

And speaking exclusively to The Sunday Post on the set of the BBC Scotland sitcom, they told us that Julie is set to become a regular character. “We just noticed there was a part that was the perfect age for her,” said Greg, 47.

“Ford was actually the one that suggested it and I thought, ‘Great, more money coming in to our house!’

“We don’t work together that often so it’s nice when we get the chance to do something.

“It’s the role of a councillor. We often use characters again and that’s the idea this time too.”

Game on in Saigon for Jack and Victor

Greg and Julie, who played Miss Hoolie in popular children’s show Balamory, have been filming their first scenes together at the BBC’s Dumbarton studios and went out on location last week.

Interest was heightened after it was revealed that this series will see the death of one of the series’ best-loved characters. Bookies have been taking bets on which resident will become the latest client of new undertaker Mr Sheathing, played by Bruce Morton.
