COLIN MCGREGOR returned to The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo this evening to recite a poem in honour of his fellow ex-military personnel.
The RAF veteran, brother of actor Ewan, dedicated the reading of war poem High Flight to the veterans interviewed by Colin and Ewan during the making of their documentaries Battle of Britain, Bomber Boys and RAF 100.
Tony Iveson and Dave Fellowes (former Lancaster pilot and tail gunner), Geoffrey Wellum (youngest Battle of Britain pilot who wrote the book “First Light”), Mary Ellis and Joy Lofthouse (the ATA lady pilots) have all sadly passed away since the series aired.
Colin said that RAF 100 events are designed to “celebrate, commemorate and inspire” and has said that the Tattoo ticks all three boxes.
