The animals invaded the carriageway near the Eurocentral industrial estate in North Lanarkshire. Video footage, filmed by Billy Barclay, shows the animals being herded across a closed-off stretch of the busy road. Traffic was backed up eastbound with delays of around 20 minutes. It’s the second incident of animals causing disruption to transport in Scotland this week. Yesterday, rail services between Dundee and Aberdeen were disrupted by cattle on the line. There were long delays for commuters after a southbound train struck one of the animals near Laurencekirk.
