The boys and mum Elaine use Makaton, a simplified version of British Sign Language, to join in with A Thousand Years by Christina Perri. The video, named 50 Mums | 50 Kids | 1 Extra Chromosome, has gone viral since its release on Thursday 15th March. Speaking to The Courier, Elaine said: “There’s been a great reaction so far, which has been fantastic. “There are so many stereotypes and prejudices and negative views still in society about Down’s Syndrome … (but) we wouldn’t change a thing about our kids.” World Down Syndrome Day is on March 21.
