MEET Bonnie the seal, who has been unveiled as the official mascot for the European Championships in Glasgow next year.
She’ll be becoming a familiar face to Glaswegians in the build-up to the event, which will see top level sport returning to the city.

Bonnie, unveiled at an event at the SEC earlier today, is a young, female harbour seal.
She is described as ‘gregarious, has bags of energy, confidence and is very agile.’

Bonnie’s name was chosen by the general public, and schoolkids from three Glasgow primary schools were involved in designing her.
A video to accompany the launch tells the story of her journey to the championships, developed by children’s author Ross McKenzie.
Over 3,000 athletes from the fields of aquatics, cycling, gold, gymnastics, rowing and triathlon will compete at venues across Glasgow next August.
Events will also be held in Edinburgh and Gleneagles.
