RAIL workers on the west coast have captured footage showing exactly why services in the area have been disrupted.
Trains between Glasgow Central and Largs will be terminated at and started back from Kilwinning due to the waves at Saltcoats, where the line runs close to the water.
All stations between Kilwinning and Largs will not be served, and trains to and from Largs and Ardrossan Harbour will also be subject to delays and cancellation.
ScotRail say replacement buses will depart as close to train time as possible.
Due to severe weather services btwn #Largs and #Ardrossan Harbour are suspended starting instead from #Kilwinning.

A Met Office Yellow “be aware” warning for high winds & heavy rain is in place from 9am to midnight today across most of the country.
Network Rail say they “will have teams on stand by at known flood areas & ‘at risk’ coastal locations – particularly around high tides and to clear any debris from tracks”.
