Scots attending summer events today have been advised to pack a cagoule amid forecasts of rain and thunderstorms.
The Met Office says flooding is possible with one-and-a-half inches of rain likely in just a couple of hours at locations from the Borders to the Highlands. Lightning will also be a factor and advice has been issued to those who are outdoors in a storm.
This afternoon thousands of music fans gather at Rouken Glen Park in Glasgow’s Giffnock for the Playground festival’s last day.
Up to 10,000 people are also due at Bridge of Allan Highland Games in Stirling.
The Art on the Shore event is at Balloch and the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is at Edinburgh Castle.
Met Office spokeswoman Sophie Yeomans said: “If I was heading out on Sunday, I would definitely pack a cagoule.”
People outdoors are advised not to stand under trees during a thunderstorm.
The current from a lightning strike can travel down a tree and jump towards anyone below.
The Met Office said: “If outside, avoid water and find a low-lying open place that is a safe distance from trees, poles or metal objects.”
They added that possible flooding could bring a “danger to life”. The warning period for Scotland is from noon until 10pm.
