JIM Forbes and wife Pam cracked open the bubbly on Brought Ferry beach after winning a whopping £655,838.70.
The duo are planning a dream trip to Hawaii as well as reducing their hours to part-time so they can enjoy their win together along with their two children, Aaron (19) and Chloe (16).
Jim (50) bought his winning ticket at Tesco Extra at Dundee’s Kingsway East for the EuroMillions draw on Friday 22nd September.
The Evening Telegraph revealed that Jim discovered his big win after popping into Asda Milton of Craigie on Saturday morning, when he asked the cashier to check his ticket from the night before.
Jim said; “I couldn’t believe it. I just kept thinking this doesn’t happen to people like me.”
Jim added that when he told his work colleague he couldn’t quite believe it either.
He said: “My colleague’s first reaction was ‘Ach away Jim!’ I’m always joking around so he didn’t believe me straight away.”
“It didn’t really sink in until I came downstairs on Monday morning. Instead of going to work I sat down on the sofa and said to Pam, ‘it it true? Have we won the lottery?’ Then I burst into tears!”
The couple plan to head on a longed-for trip to Hawaii.
“The dream is to walk down the stairs of a plane and be greeted with a lei. I can make that dream come true now,” said Jim.
Also on the couple’s bucket list are spending Christmas in New York, taking their son Aaron back to Cyprus where he was born, buying a house and getting a campervan.
