CLASSIC film ‘Sister Act’ has turned 25 in style.
The musical comedy’s anniversary was marked by a special reunion on American TV Show The View on Thursday September 14.
Screen legend Whoopi Goldberg, who played leading lady Deloris Van Cartier in the 1992 hit, took to the stage with co-stars Kathy Najimy (Sister Mary Patrick), Wendy Makkena (Sister Mary Robert) and several other familiar faces, to perform “I Will Follow Him.”
As an added bonus, Dame Maggie Smith — who played Mother Superior in the hit film – taped a message for the event.
She said: “I can’t believe this is happening, and that it was 25 years ago.
“I feel I must be the oldest nun left.”
Harvey Keitel, who played Whoopi’s ex-boyfriend in Sister Act, also joined in on the reunion fun.
During the show, Whoopi told of her surprise that the esteemed Dame Maggie wanted to be involved in the film.
Whoopi said: “I couldn’t believe she wanted to do the movie.
“I finally said to her, ‘You’re Maggie Smith! What are you doing here?’ She said, ‘Darling, I have to eat!’ She also said, ‘I have to act, this is what I do and so I want to be here and it seemed like fun.'”
