Colin Betts is feeling flush after Raw Deal helped him get a £566 refund from his energy company.
Colin, from Lockerbie, Dumfriesshire, felt he was getting nowhere with Scottish Power for weeks trying to get money back that he had overpaid into his account.
“I am a severely disabled and, as a housebound man, this money would be a lifeline to me for my daily living expenses and rent as I don’t have much in life,” he said.
“Could Raw Deal please help me, as I don’t seem to be having much response from this company.”
Colin said that he had previously been in arrears with Scottish Power but, over time, paid this off and had a surplus on his account.
“I sent them all my meter readings and at first I was told that I was £468 in credit,” he said.
“I was told the money would be refunded to my bank account but nothing ever showed up.
“When my niece Linda called them again she was told I was actually owed £572 and, again, that the cash was on its way, but nothing arrived.
“It was very annoying because it was a different story when I owed them money and they kept pursuing me for payment.”
Feeling like he was getting nowhere with Scottish Power, Colin turned to Raw Deal.
We contacted the company on his behalf and asked them to investigate.
The good news is that the firm moved quickly and Colin has now been refunded £566.
Colin said he was grateful to Raw Deal for stepping in and sorting out such a stressful situation.
