STRONG winds of up to 70mph are set to hit Scotland tomorrow with the arrival of Storm Hector.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for wind affecting the whole country, as well as parts of Northern Ireland and the north of England.
Forecasters say a very blustery spell will develop during Wednesday night in association with a deep area of low pressure.
The strongest of the winds will hit the west coast in the early hours of Thursday, spreading eastwards throughout the day.
Westerly winds are likely to be between 50 and 60 mph in many areas and some exposed areas could be battered by gusts of around 70 mph.
Winds should gradually ease from the west during Thursday afternoon.
And it’s not just the gales we have to be prepared for – heavy rain showers will accompany the wild weather too.
