Children in Ayrshire paid lowest amount of pocket money in the UK

CHILDREN in Ayrshire are paid the lowest pocket money rates in the UK, new research shows.
They struggle by on just £4.70 a week, while well off youngsters in Buckinghamshire pocket the most cash – £6.75.
Half of children in the UK receive pocket money, but payments are failing to keep pace with inflation, the research by cleaning brand Dr Beckmann found.
In the UK, children most commonly begin to receive pocket money aged seven and receive it until they are 18, meaning the average youngster receives more than £2600 over the course of their childhood.
Youngsters in Aberdeenshire get the next lowest rate in Scotland, at £4.95 per week.
