AS Easter weekend approaches we thought we’d take a look at some of egg-cellent family events happening across Scotland.
Whether you’d like to surround yourself in nature, climb aboard the HMY Britannia, cook pancakes over an open fire or release your inner pirate, there are lots of weird and wonderful ways to celebrate Easter. We hope you have a cracking time!
1. Easter Fun with RSPB Scotland
The RSPB have a great programme of Easter events on for children, chock-full of fun outdoor activities including nature scavenger hunts, face painting and egg decorating.

2. Easter Sunday Pirate Fun Day
With a bouncy castle, balloon modelling, a treasure hunt and an award for the best dressed pirate, head to Scone Castle this Easter for a swashbuckling adventure.

3. Easter Egg-stravaganza
The Scottish Crannog Centre are celebrating their 20th anniversary! Join the Easter party and cook pancakes over an open fire, bake your own bread rolls in our clay ovens and churn your own butter to spread on them.

4. Traquair Easter Egg-stravaganza
Come along for a day of fun and take part in the biggest egg hunt in the borders. 5,500 Mini Eggs will be hidden in the maze and there’ll be an ‘egg scramble’ in the garden so there’s more than enough chocolatey goodness to go around.

5. Cadbury Egg Hunts
This Easter weekend, collect your hunt map, follow the clues, solve the puzzle and claim your chocolatey reward! Each hunt is completely different – the perfect excuse to hop along to more than one!

6. Royal Yacht Britannia Corgi Hunt
Would you like a hunt with a difference? Rather than the usual chocolate egg, Royal Yacht Britannia are offering kids the chance to find friendly corgi cuddly toys.

7. Easter Fun at the Scottish Seabird Centre
There’s lots going on at the fabulous Seabird Centre in North Berwick. Not only is it whale and dolphin weekend, there’s also be an interactive puppet show, scientific experiments and a special 3D film.

8. Easter Trail
Find the ‘missing ingredients’ of a yummy chocolate bar and you’ll be rewarded with a tasty treats from Mackie’s Ice Cream – and you might learn something too.

9. Easter Fun
As well as the opening of the brand-new Wildlife Warrior trail, The Highland Wildife Park is also hosting lots of family friendly Easter activities, including a bunny maze, face painting and egg decorating.

10. The Scottish Daffodil Festival
Do you grow daffodils in your garden? There are prizes up for grabs (both for the kids and for the big kids) if you bring along some of your homegrown daffodils, as well as a Woodland Daffodil Trail where you hunt for Easter stamps, and Easter-themed putting on the lawn. Something a little different and a lovely Spring day out.
