Woman hit by car on Glasgow’s University Avenue dies in hospital

A WOMAN who was hit by a car in Glasgow’s West End on Tuesday afternoon has died.

The 24 year-old was struck by the vehicle on University Avenue near to its junction with Southpark Avenue.

The Glasgow University student was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital in a critical condition.

She died earlier today, and a full report will be forwarded to the Procurator Fiscal.

Sergeant Nicola Taylor from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Helen Street is re-appealing for any witnesses to the crash to contact her office through 101 quoting reference number 2733 of 17th April 2017.
