AN X Factor live tour show due to take place at Glasgow’s SSE Hydro tonight has been cancelled, the venue has announced.
A statement on the arena’s website said: “Due to severe adverse weather conditions, tonight’s X Factor live show at The SSE Hydro has unfortunately been cancelled.
“Every effort was made for the show to go ahead but our guests safety and well-being is our number one priority.
“Due to the weather and following advice from relevant authorities, including Police Scotland, the show has had to be called off.
“We sincerely apologise to all the fans for any inconvenience caused and we can assure you the artists are just as disappointed as you are.
“Ticket holders are advised to contact their point of purchase for a refund.”
Fans shared their unhappiness at the late call off on Twitter.
Vicky Collier wrote: “People have already started travelling… Lost money on hotels, disgraceful how it’s been left so late to issue a statement @TheXFactor putting artists and public at risk”
Jillian Reynolds commented: “Finally made the right decision!!!”
A user with the handle @Taytaylorxlovex tweeted: “This is terrible I’ve been waiting for months me and my 2 friends are sitting in tears. All the other people travelling have booked hotels and everything and thanks to you they had no reason to.”
At the moment, the Elbow show scheduled for tomorrow night at the same venue will still take place.
A performance by Madness frontman Suggs at the city’s Pavilion Theatre was called off earlier today, with advice still in place for people not to travel unless absolutely necessary.
