US businesswoman Jennifer Arcuri has admitted having to an affair with Boris Johnson, months after allegations he used his position as London mayor to get her favourable treatment.
She said she was get swept away by “avalanches of passion” and he told her she was “the Mount Everest every man wants to climb”.
Ms Arcuri has admitted to having an affair with Mr Johnson while he was with his then-wife Marina.
The pair even talked about schemes such as opening a ski centre in Bulgaria. Ms Arcuri said she ended the relationship around the time Johnson’s second term as Mayor ended.
She said: “There are romantic men and there are jesters of romance like Boris, and they’re not the same thing.
“Boris wanted to drink wine, have sex and be totally involved in politics. I was a twentysomething, trying to make a decision about my future, and I knew I wanted to be a mom and settle down.”
Ms Arcuri, now married with a three-year-old daughter, said: “I wish there was something I could do to bring back that Boris spark because the nation needs it.”
The PM avoided a criminal investigation after the police watchdog found no evidence he influenced the payment of thousands of pounds of public money to her or secured her participation in foreign trade trips he led.
