Still Game’s Gavin Mitchell and his dog Bob have given their support to the Beatson Cancer Charity ahead of their virtual Burns Supper.
The charity is inviting families around the world to join in with The Bard and his Belles’ Virtual Burns Supper, a special online event taking place on Friday January 22.
Gavin and his beloved dog helped promote the fundraising event with a call to action to find Rabbie Burns lookalikes.
The actor, who played Boaby the barman, said : “Wee sleekit coorin timorous cancer, we’re gonnae beat ye… ya chancer !
“Bob the Dog and I are looking forward to a special night of verse, music, fun and frolics while sharing our haggis, neeps and tatties… and a wee dram for Bob! Much love and hugs in thought to all our dear friends and staff at the Beatson.”
The Bard & his Belles fundraiser is hosted by broadcaster Alison Walker, with special guests including Karen Dunbar, Hazel Irvine and Eric Davidson.
The night will be filled with Burns’ poems and songs and tributes made to the great Bard to honour his birthday.
Entertainment will be provided from the Red Hot Chilli Pipers.
There will also be an interactive fun quiz hosted by lockdown quiz master Andy Dunlop of The Stayin’in Inn. who will test guests’ knowledge of Rabbie and Scotland.
The event will also feature a silent auction, with items including whiskies, staycations, paintings and exlcusive prizes.
