The Great British Bake Off has finally returned to our screens, inspiring all aspiring cooks to crack out the baking trays and whip up batters of their own.
Anyone with a smartphone and an oven can share photos of masterpieces and mishaps alike on the internet – so we thought we’d keep your marzipan moulding motivation high with some interesting examples…
Let’s start with some impressive Game of Thrones tastiness
Not to be outdone, however, this baker slaved over the icing like winter was coming!
But there are those whose talents weren’t kept a secret for long
A Disney princess also received a makeover!
If in doubt, try a more basic approach
People have used the internet to share the results of trying to buy a personalised cake… presumably from the same bakery
What would Nadiya Hussain of The Great British Bake Off have to say?
But it isn’t always the bakery that makes the mistake when it comes to personalisation
It’s also not clear why anyone would want to eat a celebrity, let alone one who is sunburned quite this badly… and wrapped in bacon?
But then, these ‘cake pops’ are also pretty weird
And this well-crafted dog cake looks suspiciously realistic… including the dirt in his fur.
The poor child that received this monstrous baked ‘frog’ on his or her birthday was probably terrified
But practice makes perfect, right Nadiya?
And if you just can’t get it right, pour Nutella over the top and no one will know the difference…
Share you baking feats and flops with us!
