The 58-year-old, who ran a drugs and crime business in the north of Glasgow, was cremated at Clydebank Crematorium yesterday. He died at home on Monday following a long battle with cancer. Hundreds gathered for the service, which was monitored by a significant uniformed and plain-clothed police presence. Sutherland, who is one year into a 13½ year prison stretch, was loaded back into a prison security van as soon as the service was finished. Last June, he was jailed after admitting supplying heroin. Eight other suspects walked free following a major police probe into the family’s rackets.
