CROWN officials will meet with police this week to discuss potential charges against the ex-girlfriend of a Scottish tycoon.
Jaime Duffin, 38, is accused of defrauding Edinburgh multimillionaire Mark Emlick, 52, out of ten of thousands of pounds.
Officials from the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service will meet officers today (Friday) to discuss whether Duffin should face charges.
The allegations centre on claims Jaime – the mother of a two-year-old daughter to property developer Emlick – defrauded her former flame by inventing incidents and online characters who claimed her life was in mortal danger.
It is even claimed Ms Duffin impersonated officials and police officers to contact Mr Emlick.
It is alleged Mr Emlick shelled out thousands of pounds for Duffin to move house in the face of the made-up threat.
The pair met in 2013 through his work but fell out soon afterwards when Jaime was pregnant with the couple’s only child, a daughter who is now two.
Last year the couple ended up in court in Perth amid accusations Mr Emlick had threatened Jaime and told her to abort her baby.
He was fined £700.
Police have been making enquiries about the allegations for over two years but are due to discuss the allegations on November 11 with officials at the COPFS.
A spokesman for the COPFS said they not received a prosecution report yet.
Mr Emlick could not be reached for comment.
Jaime Duffin said: “I refute all the allegations made.
“This has been going on since 2014.
“What has been forgotten in all of this is there is a two-year-old girl is at the centre of all of this.
“The whole thing has been horrific for me and for her.”
