First it was ice cream, now it’s cartoon characters over-zealous Facebook bosses have in their sights.
Personal trainer Roy Wilson’s been banned from using pictures of oddly-proportioned cartoon strongman Johnny Bravo in adverts because they “don’t allow images that promote an ideal body”.
We recently revealed award-winning Broughty Ferry caf Visocchi’s had been barred from advertising their Rum and Raisin ice cream because it breached the social network’s strict alcohol promotion rules even though the ice cream doesn’t contain booze.
Former British champion body-builder Roy, from Glasgow, created the Johnny Bravo advert to promote personal workout and diet plans he creates.
He said: “It wasn’t approved by Facebook because it breaks their guidelines. So Johnny Bravo officially has the ideal body!”
Bizarrely, with his skinny little legs and massively over-developed torso and arms, Johnny Bravo’s physique is far from ideal.
Roy’s Facebook followers were astounded by the ruling. Greg Elliot posted: “Wow! That’s crazy!”
Martin Reid joked: “But he doesn’t train his legs not even once.”
And Chris Kenny said: “Johnny Bravo would also agree with this statement!”
