A photo that will become part of history Prince George holding Princess Charlotte, snapped by their mother.
The first official photos of Prince George and Princess Charlotte can today be revealed by The Sunday Post and the adorable snaps were taken by mum!
The Duchess of Cambridge took the touching pictures of the cute pair at the family’s home in Anmer Hall, Norfolk.
The snaps, which were taken around two weeks ago, show an attentive George cradling his sister as she lies gurgling in his arms.
In one heart-melting frame, George, one, plants a careful kiss on his sister’s forehead.
His hand on her tiny tummy, she responds with a gurgling smile, as the pair sit propped on a spotless white sofa.
Royal watchers were quick to heap praise on the beautiful set of four official photographs for their candid simplicity.
Sunday Post Royal Editor Ian Lloyd said: “They really are adorable. Hearts will be melting across the world.”
Others have noted Kate Middleton’s skill with a camera.
The plaudits are in stark contrast to the good natured ribbing of her father Michael, who was criticised for his amateurish first snap of George.
Picturing Kate, Wills and George together, he made the cardinal sin of shooting into the sun, making the snap fuzzy.
But Kate’s simple composition was far more effective, according to Sunday Post Picture Editor Jeremy Bayston.
He said: “Kate’s done a great job. It’s beautifully lit and she’s captured the moment the two key things you need for a truly memorable photograph.”
Rachel Burrows, from parenting site Netmums, said parents will today be desperately searching for details of both the royal outfits the siblings are wearing.
“The Kate Effect is renowned for making almost every item she wears sell out,” said Rachel.
“Princess Charlotte looks set to follow in her mother’s fashionable footsteps.
“Her first appearance at a few hours old in a baby blanket made by Nottinghamshire firm GH Hurt and Son saw orders fly in from around the globe.
“Today’s pictures will undoubtedly see thousands of mums snap up the adorable outfits.”
Previous royal baby portraits have been taken by celebrated society photographers. However, William and Kate are happy to break with tradition as they try to give their children a more relaxed upbringing.
Experts estimate the new Princess will give a £1bn economic boost to the UK, with the Royals flying the flag for many homemade brands.
After Charlotte was born on May 2, the family-of-four took up residence in Anmer Hall, a 10-bedroom country house on the Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.
