I was very impressed with our youngest MP Mhairi Black when I met her this week.
She’s just 20-years-old and still at university, yet famously unseated Douglas Alexander to become SNP MP for Paisley and Renfrewshire South at the recent General Election.
Despite the fact she’s our youngest MP since 1667, it would be a big mistake to underestimate Mhairi.
She’s as smart as a whip and knows her stuff.
If any of the older, more jaded MPs from the other parties attempt to patronise her, they will get short shift and quite right too.
I know she wrote some daft tweets when she was a kid, but who hasn’t made mistakes when they were teenagers?
Mhairi is bright, funny and desperately wants to make life better for her constituents.
I hope her success encourages others of her age to step up and make their own bid to succeed in the world politics.
