STEVEN FLETCHER has signed for Sheffield Wednesday.
The 29-year-old striker, who had been linked with Celtic, has signed a four-year deal with the English Championship club.
Fletcher was released by Sunderland at the end of last season, having been on loan at Marseille since February.
Also on the move today was Scotland’s Matt Ritchie, who joined Newcastle from Bournemouth.
He told the Newcastle website: “It’s an unbelievable feeling to come to a football club like this.
“I loved it at Bournemouth – I had a fantastic time there and it had a huge impact on my career. But when a club like Newcastle comes calling, I couldn’t pass up this opportunity.”
