Rangers fans are rallying behind a huge protest against Mike Ashley.
Campaigners seeking to remove the controversial owner of Newcastle United say they have been inundated with support from Light Blues fans ahead of next weekend’s planned boycott of St James’ Park.
AshleyOut.com hope that up to 10,000 of the Magpies faithful will stay away from the Premier League match against Tottenham next Sunday.
Demonstrations will be held before and after the game in a bid to turn up the pressure on the man who also now controls the Ibrox club’s retail operation.
“We have had great feedback for the planned boycott from all over the country but especially so from Rangers supporters,” said a group spokesman last night.
“There is a connection through Mike Ashley’s tie-up with their own club, and they have been using social media to wish us all the best in our bid.
“Some of their guys were very helpful with advice about how to market our independent Newcastle United shirt.
“Our aim is to show the widespread dissatisfaction there is towards Ashley.”
