BRENDAN RODGERS last night refused to confirm or deny Celtic interest in Paddy McNair amid speculation in Ireland the Manchester United centre-half is heading for Glasgow.
The 21-year-old Northern Ireland internationalist is set to be allowed to leave the Red Devils on loan as Jose Mourinho juggles his playing resources.
And that has sparked the attention of Rodgers, who wants FOUR new players in – with Aston Villa’s £5 million-rated attacker Scott Sinclair on his radar.
“I can’t say yes or no to that. There have been so many players who have been linked with Celtic I can’t comment on everyone,” said the Celtic manager.
“Probably ideally I would like another four in.
“Is it doable ? We shall see. It just takes time. I understand that but in terms of assessing the squad before I came in, and likewise having been in now for six weeks or so that is what I would say we would be at.
“Sinclair is a young talented lad but he is still an Aston Villa player.
“Until anything is done, there is nothing to say.”
