The former England star has reportedly decided against making the move north for family reasons. It has also been suggested that there were problems found in the player’s medical. Ibrox boss Mark Warburton had been hoping to land the experienced defender after holding personal talks with the 34-year-old. It is understood that a two-year-deal was offered but has now been turned down. Lescott’s last minute decision could be good news for Phillipe Senderos. The ex-Arsenal man has been training with Rangers this week in a bid to earn himself a contract. With the Lescott deal now dead, Warburton could turn to the Swiss international to bolster his side’s defence. A deal that does look almost certain to be done at Ibrox is the signing of Preston’s Joe Garner. He is expected to undergo a medical later today.
