It was soon 2-0 as a seemingly harmless cross was met by Allan Walker’s head and he turned past his own keeper.
The Methil men were given a lifeline when Nathan Austin was tripped inside the Berwick box and Alan Cook stepped up to pull one back from the spot.
East Fife pulled level when Steven Campbell’s 40-yard wind-assisted free-kick sailed in beyond Willie Bald. But David Gold scored Queen’s winner from close in.
Annan 0-1 Queen’s Park
Annan’s Matthew Flynn and Derek Carcary went close early on, and Queen’s first chance came in the 16th minute when Gavin Mitchell saw his shot stopped by goalkeeper Alex Mitchell.
In the 41st minute, Shaun Fraser beat the Annan keeper with a shot which hit the top corner. Annan’s Peter Watson was sent off for a second yellow in the 58th minute.
